National Citizens Party : Youths reveal name of new party, top leaders .

A new youth-led political party, the “National Citizens Party” (NCP), formed by the Jatiya Nagorik Committee (JANAC) and the Students Against Discrimination, is set to be launched tomorrow (28 February).

National Citizens Party : Youths reveal name of new party, top leaders .

A new youth-led political party, the “National Citizens Party” (NCP), formed by the Jatiya Nagorik Committee (JANAC) and the Students Against Discrimination, is set to be launched tomorrow (28 February).

During a joint meeting at JANAC’s central office in Dhaka’s Banglamotor today (27 February), the leadership of the party has been finalised, with Nahid Islam appointed as the convener and Akhtar Hossain as the member secretary.

Additionally, Nasiruddin Patwari has been selected as the chief coordinator, Hasnat Abdullah as the chief organiser for the southern region, and Sarjis Alam as the chief organiser for the northern region.

Four senior leaders from the committee confirmed the party’s name and announced the leadership positions.

According to meeting sources, the positions of senior joint convener and senior joint member secretary are yet to be finalised due to multiple candidates competing for them.

The official launch event of the NCP will take place tomorrow afternoon at Manik Mia Avenue, where the names of the party’s top leaders will be formally announced.
