Police officials are warning that former members of law enforcement agencies are impersonating detectives and other officers to commit robberies. The Deputy Commissioner of the Ramna Division, Masud Alam, shared this information at a press briefing on Thursday morning.
Alam stated that seven individuals posing as members of the Detective Branch (DB) were arrested the previous night near Golap Shah's shrine in Dhaka while preparing to commit a robbery. Police confiscated a vehicle and other equipment used for the crime.
He added that the arrested individuals have a history of committing similar offenses by impersonating law enforcement. Police are now working to investigate the root of these crimes. Alam also advised the public to contact their local police station if they encounter any suspicious or unpleasant situations.
