Tajia procession in the capital under flawless security

The 10th of Muharram is a day of mourning in the history of Islam. which Muslims observe as the day of Ashura. On the 10th of Muharram, Imam Hussain (RA) was martyred in the Maidan of Karbala. People of the Shia community among the Muslims take to the streets to mourn Imam Hussain (R.A.). Like every year, Shia Muslims have started the Tajiya procession from Imambara Hossaini building in the capital.

The procession started at 10 am on Tuesday (August 9) from Hosseini Dalan in the capital. The procession will proceed from Azimpur-Newmarket to Dhanmondi Lake. The people of the Shia community rehearsed before the start of the Tazia procession.On the surface, most of the people present in the procession are wearing black Punjabis chanting ‘Hai Hussain, Hai Hussain’. Banners of various organizations were also seen in the procession. The main organization is Hosseini Dalan Imambara Management Committee.Meanwhile, on the occasion of the holy Ashura, necessary security arrangements have been made around the capital’s Hosseini Dalan Imambara, Bara Katara Imambara and various events centered on the Shia community and the traditional Tazia (mourning) procession. And Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is working to strengthen this security.In the morning, Hosani Dalan Imambara, Bara Katara Imambara and other Shia community places in the capital were visited, members of the police and intelligence agencies are on high alert. RAB members are also performing security duties.

On the other hand, carrying of daggers, daggers, scissors, spears, axes, swords, sticks has been banned by the law and order forces to complete the Tajiya procession properly. At the same time, fireworks and crackers have been banned. Police and RAB are working to ensure adequate security.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Chowkbazar police station Udayan Bikas Barua said that more than 500 policemen are performing security duties. Besides, the members of intelligence agencies are working at different levels.
